So, what rod is everybody putting their new Hoo-X on?

i would guess a fishin kinda rod. lol just kiddin. seen the reel once at the show, if i own one id probably set it on a 800xh.

I was thinking the GFGR700H

I would probably try it on my 700XH or my 850H depending on how far away from the boat I need to get. My 850H will be acid wrapped so it should be a fun comparison.

700XH - perfect choice - I fish a Trini 40N on it (sorry Mark - it's the only Shimano I really like)

I plan to match the HX up with a 700XH as well!

700XH WOULD BE A GOOD CHIOCE.

like i said on the hoo x thread, i just got mine today from charkbait, was asking for the best none roller rod for the 50/60 lb. reel, i think the 700H is a little too light for this reel, what ya think bout the 700XH or a good seeker rod?

This is a Wahoo bomb/surface iron reel right? Is it normal to use 7' rods to cast lures to Wahoo? How about an 8'? Is there such a thing as a Calstar 800XH?

The 700XH tosses the bomb just fine if you don't like the longer rods, they take some getting used to.

For me I will have one on my 700XH and one on my Super Seeker-ULUA 93H.
Some days the long rod is just to long for me.

I PUT MINE ON A SEEKER BLACK STEEL 6570, MIGHT JUST TAKE IT OFF AND PUT IT ON MY 700XH, MIGHT BE A LITTLE BIT BETTER ACTION, THAN THE SEEKER..

I just ordered mine with the Seeker G6470-H....Can't wait for the UPS Man

But Louie---the only way you will catch trout with a wahoo bomb is if you hit him on the head!?!
