Well, I just checked my Super Lotto numbers. Looks like I clean up the old Penns instead of placing that replacement order from Chark....

I'll tell you mi expirience. I own a pair of Avets and a pair of Accurates so I have use them both. First, I bought an Accurate 270 when they came to the market, and it fail with a tuna after a 45 minutes fight the reel open!!!

But here is the good part, I put a claim with Accurate and the y send me a pre paid box to return the reel, send me a new one with no charge, with a modify handle an an appology letter. A company that gives that kind of after sale service is something to consider in a purchase.

From then I've use that reel a lot and never have problems, just good fishing. Nowadays I use more the small 197 with GSP 40 pounds and no top shot, just directly to de lider and I have catch everything from wahoos, dorados, tunas and even stiped marlin and I can only tell you us a delight. Simply no comparison with Avets, that are great reels but Accurate is simply the best.

My Sx 2 is loaded with GSP 50 pound test but havent been used yet, I'll tell you when used, but just by seeing it and handling it I can tell it's no match for the Accurate.

Best regards

accurates are delicious.lol

i own 4 accurates and have 2 more coming in.
i still love the penns, will not tear away from them. they are loyal to me and never had any failure.
as for accurates, love them more only because they need a little more attention.

remove line, rinse, lube, and freshin the line and your set to go again.

ooohhhhhhhhhhh a touch of w-d40 on the mecanism .

W-a-a-a-y off the subject---WD-40 is a solvent, not a lubricant. If you spray it on a reel, be sure to wipe back off. Same with Armorall-it will eat up the soft parts of reels as well as rod wrap epoxy if left alone!

I quite agree.

I rotted a good bit of one of my 525mags four years ago by spraying the metal portions with WD-40 as if it was a lubricant.
