The Fathom 15 optimized for casting differs from the standard F15 II in that it has 1) a nice knob, instead of a slider control. Anything else?

200 yards of 20 mono is the same as my old Newell 220, but the reel's proportions look more like a 229. Is that fair?

Yes the 15 is close in over all size to 229.

The Seigler surf looks lovely, but it's meant for heavier loads than the plugs I prefer to cast.

The little Fathom casting special is a very interesting piece. It will hold a little more line than the standard 15. I go along with the size, like a 229.
