Before you buy, you might want to take a look at the Revo Inshore. It includes a power handle and has plenty of drag. The Luna is sweet, but you will lose a little in casting smaller baits.
I have fished shimano calcutta, and on one of my trips I was introduced to daiwa reels. I, now, am a convert. I OWN ALL THE DAIWA LUNA series, 103, 203, 253, 300, and also the inshore coastal. I run 6-8 lb on my inshore coastal; on the 103 I fish 10 lb; 203 I fish 12 lb; 253 I fish 15 lb; and I fish 17 lb on the 300. They free spool like no other reels I have used. I fish the 1/2 day fleet from Santa Barbara to San Diego. I love to fish the plastics and you can't go wrong with the Diawa Luna reels. There are other reels on the market, but I am sold on these reels. I also own all the Saltiga series and Daiwa has to have the best of free spool. I know that Avet has good reels for the price. I will be fishing on kayaks this summer off North county of San Diego. I will taking my Lunas in the kelps. I am a light line fisherman. So good luck on your ventures.
