ICAST begins July 10 and of course we will be there to preview new products and make a post here about 'em. We do have a sneak peak at a couple of new ones for you:
Toro Tamer will be introducing a few new products. First the Surf Explorer Travel Rods will have a few new models, one of particular note is the Surf Explorer 40-50# casting rod. The new rod is about 9 feet in length, 4 pieces and comes in a hard case. It's capable of dealing with lure weights of 3 ounces or less.
Toro Tamer will also be showing off their new 30 and 20 lb SPLICEABLE SUPER BRAID. This is the thinnest spliceable braid that's ever been produced. It promises to open up many rigging opportunities for folks who see the benefits of a seamless/knottless connection, like 100% test strength and no rod guide bump when casting. For inshore saltwater anglers, freshwater fly, spinning and baitcasting enthusiasts, the new line will be a fantastic product and offer improved line capacity given it's very, very skinny design.
A new Bucktail Jig will also be shown off. Over the past few years some of the white seabass guys have discovered the benefits of using an appropriate bucktail jig with fresh dead squid to entice a bite from white seabass. Beta here at our shop was one of the first to mention the effectiveness of this technique, and also was a bit frustrated that there really wasn't an appropriate jig on the market today for this application. So, TT made him the lure he wanted, and I think he's going to be very happy. The new Toro Tamer Bucktail features an excellent hook, stainless steel, strong, and sharp with appropriate shank length. The head's swim very well and the skirting is top-drawer stuff with a nice "fishskin" material, some mylar and lumo flash to 'em. There are four patterns available, white, red/white, blue/white and glow. Weights: 1 1/2, 2, 3 and 4 ounces.
