Hello Everyone! I just bought my self a Shimano TLD 20 for medium/light trolling. I was wondering what a good rod would be to go with it. I dont want to spend too much (hopefully less than 200) but i want something that will perform well. Any suggestions? Thanks- Gman
Gman-for 30-40 line, try a Seeker black steel 660h or 660h AR. Probably good through 50 easily. This is for small boat or standup. For a chair try an IGFA 30h. Good luck with your new reel!

A light trolling rod doesn't require a top-of-the-line blank. If you want one on the cheap, check that sporting goods chain that has a BIG 5 in it's name. The Penn/Sabre that they sell (6455XH RS/RT) is made with quality parts and can be had pretty cheap, even cheaper on sale. That Outdoorsman chain (Rhymes with Burners) occasionally puts their house brand rods on sale for cheap, and their 6460XH is a 50# stick.
I think Chark has some Daiwa meatsticks in his CLEARANCE section, maybe one of those will work for you.
Or, you could hit up a tackle swapmeet and by an old troller. Old boat rods go pretty cheap, even the AR Seekers and Calstars.
The Seeker Classic and Calstar West Coast series 660H RS/RT rods are in the ballpark. I own a few of 'em, and they are great rods for private boat troll duty...and a lot more.
