Hey guys, I bought a new Penn 114H reel off of Ebay a few months ago. I put line on it today but, there is a distinctive knock in the crank. It happens everytime I wind and the handle hits the down position. It sound really bad. Can anyone help?

had the same problem in the past, mine turned out to be uneven torques on the screws.

This is not good. You may have a bad tooth on the main gear, but if you're lucky, there's something -- crud, sand, etc. -- wedged between two teeth on the main gear. I'm guessing it's the main gear because you say it happens when the handle is down which would be when a particular part of the main gear meshes with the pinion. If you need a new main gear, you'll need t replace the pinion as well.
