Matt is spooling up a Cal conversion for me and I would like the Charkbait tackel hoo's to chim in on a rod recommendation as long as it is a black steel seeker.

Please let me know your thoughts on line class and rod selection.

What is the reel blue-printed for?
40/50/....

Using it for live bait or jigging?

The G6470 comes to mind right off the bat as a 40-50lb rod....

Surface iron and plastics with a 12T-2? I don't think so. For bait I'd go with the G6470.

For Seeker--only real choice would be the 6470. I would suggest that you go and pull on a Calstar 765xl. Awesome combination with the 12t-2. Both rods will work great with the reel.

Can certainly throw wahoo bombs with the 12T-2.

I second that. Can throw iron or bombs with that one.

My super 12 matches up muy bueno with my Black Steel 6480H.

12t topless is done and now it has a nice 6480H Seeker BS from the Chark to see if one can do some damage this fall.
