I believe they are. I prefer thier frames over accurate's. Tiburon has the open top design and smoother lines. I have a standard width and the narrow width, both fit and function are perfect.
We stock the TIb frames. They are doing another run which we should see within a month. There MAY be wides, but honestly it's nothing to count on. Narrow and standard width are in stock at present.
I have a very similar question. I have a 113h and when I first used it that was a great reel. Now there's Avet and Accurate and All are open top 2-speed reels and that's the way to go for me. These older model penns, when used for trolling, the frame doesn't bother me as much, ITS THE LOW GEAR !!But for handling the reel,(bait/ casting) TOPLESS is the only way to fly. My question is, I have a "BAJA SPECIAL" and right out of the box it's on and fishing great(50 lb.mono on 80lb. spectra over 100lb. dacron filler, geez what a mess,) I hope that I'll never need to respool, but I will when I get going with my new job: HOLLOW SPECTRA (that's up and coming.) So , the question that I need help with is.... "WHAT CAN I DO TO HAVE A BETTER REEL, (TOPLESS FRAME, NARROW/ KEEP WIDE / NEW BEARING ? "without duplicating a reel that i already have (the baja special ?) WHAT WOULD BE A USEFUL IMPROVEMENT AND YET FILL IN A GAP THAT THE BAJA DOESN"T ALREADY COVER? I really don't use this reel as is anymore, It is now brought along like a spare tire is in your trailor.. MOSTLY DEAD WEIGHT!! I JUST DON"T NEED 2 baja specials that's my tech question. Can you advise me how can this reel be a good reel for bait fishing or not ? HOW CAN IT BE EFFECTIVELY DIFFERENT THAN A "BAJA SPECIAL"??
The "Baja Special" is the impovment over the 113h. Here on the left coast people for years were making their 113h's narrow, topless and beefing up the drags. IMO Penn was way behind the ball on this and then came out with Baja Special much too late. You could do the conversion but If you have the Baja Special I realy dont see a need for it. If I were you I would keep the reel the way you are as a backup, light trolling or as a shark rig.
Edit: I just reread my post and I think I may have been a little to harsh on Penn. Penn has gone through some changes as of late and have a number of truly great reels out here. It's the conversion I dont think you may need CV. I fish Penn and I still will they are fine reels and are made too last.

doman you are right I will put the 113h frame and switch it with the baja and then I will have 2 @$#%^&& reels that you might want to look at . That would confuse even mark !!!
