I just got these evolution gorilla pliers from chark the other day. I didn't like the all aluminum handle so I heated some shrink tube to it and closed the ends with turk knots. I was wondering what I should use to protect my turk knot maybe epoxy? What do you guys think of my upgrades by the way?
heres a link to the pliers

Question:
What do you guys think of the upgrade?

Choices:
POSITIVE?
NEGATIVE?

Looks good I like the x-tube heat shrink. I have not tried this and don't know how it will work with the products (heat shrink and cord) you used. Maybe a little testing before you use it on the pliers?

Check the bottom of the link to see what this guy does.

go to the local hardware store and get a half pint can of MinWax solvent based Polyurethane wood finishm use a small brush to saturate the Turk, it will take a couple of days to dry completely but once it does it's forever.

I use this trick on rods I build.
