I'm hoping someone can help me out with upgrading my reel's. I would like to switch from my 2 TLD 15's to 2 Avet's.I've heard and seen to many horror stories about Shi*mano and want to switch out all of my reel's eventually.I generally fish 2 day trips and 1 10 day a year if that helps.thanks in advanced for the help.
You're making a good move. Look at the MXL and JX for reels that will do what your TLD 15s were supposed to go before their bearings froze, drags got sticky and plastic split.
dont know to much about avets, but surly dont wanna know about sh%tmano.sorry i couldnt give you any help , but will be more than willing to help you with your 10 day tackle set ups.
thanks fot the advice everyone I will definitely upgrade with the Avet and my other reels will soon follow.CharkBait definitely will be getting my business after all the great things I read on this board.
For the $ 2 speeds Avet lead the market in performance and durability from the smallest to the biggest they all fit the bill.
To make it easy on yourself and the pocket book start at the low end and spend your way up to a 50 SDS.
anything over 30 # gets spectra backing and you can fish anything that swims with avet and never look back.
When I begain I bought Penn Internationals 2 speeds for my 60 80 100 gear and had to have them tricked out. My last reel was an avet 50 SDS and it's good to go out of the box.
