I am leaving sunday on a 2 day albacore trip and was wondering if my 60# set-up would work for a troll rod. It is a TLD 30II with a cal-star 765L with heavy fuji guides, not roller. also what color feathers should I take, right now I have purple and scrambled egg.

Your covered bro.... 60 lb is more than adequate.

On a July 1 two day'er the hot trolling lure All Day Long was a Blue/White hoochie with Pink/White one stacked right behind it with 1 once of lead in the head of each hoocie. It got hit 6 of the nine trolling Albacore caught. One on a Ping Feather one on Purple and Black Feather and one on.... I forgot....

Something I learned on that trip that may help you:
If you get bit on the troll try not to pull the tuna in right away. When you figure its about 40 feet from the boat just play it with out reeling in line. That will help draw the school up to the boat increasing the odds of your mates getting bit. Try to wait until a couple of others hang one then bring it to gaff.

ITS TRUE, wait a bit to bring in the others, i also use 60 on troll. i like to use the zucchini in day and the purple /black in semi dark. for some lucky reason i like the pink in sunnierdays. from what i hear the smaller feathers are the choice.

good luck.
