I searched the boards with no luck, I can't believe this topic not discussed in the past.

I have a black Avet MX 4.5:1 reel. I love the reel but hate the clicker. I fish one pole at a time, occasionally two from a pier. Can I remove the clicker and if so, will that affect reel performance?

Pier, have you contacted Avet about this issue? I'm sure they could answer your question? If not I'm sure someone on this board can.

I believe the clicking is from the anti-reverse dog jumping from gear to gear. You can remove it but then your handle will spin backwards when you hook a fish. Not a very good idea. I will suggest that you add a bunch of grease to the dog to reduce the noise, or, sell me your avet for really cheap
