Well I'm going out on the Dominator in San Diego and would like your comments on my gear I'm taking a 30# setup (Avet MXJ single speed/ Calstar WC270 7C), 40# setup (Avet LX single speed Seeker 6470H-7'), and 60/80# setup (Avet Pro EX 4/02 Seeker SC6460XH-6'AR). I also have a Avet JX/3 coming and would like to know if I should change out my LX reel on the seeker rod and put the JX/3 in it's place for jigging. any recommendations on for and LX rod for live bait?

You can jig fine with an LX, although some people find a JX easier to throw iron with.

THe 270 is light for 30#, it's the classic 20# rod. Try to pick up something like a 670 for 30#. The 6470H is more of a 50# rod but will work for 40# too. It would probably work pretty well for jigging. A G6470 is a good 40# rod for both bait and yoyo.
