I am a relative newbee to long range fishing only having been on 4 10 day trips. My problem is a limited $$ budget. I have been on many sites looking at rods and reels required, but everyone has different tackle requirements. I do not know what I really need to take. I am really confused. I know a 16 day trip requires additional tackle over a 10 day trip, but can't figure out what additional is required. I think I have all the required lures and hooks. I don't think I have all the rods and reels required.

Use the boats trolling and kite rigs.
Bring one 40lb, one 50/60lb, one 80lb and a 100/135 rig and you will have most of what you need.

This is a minimum, I generaly have two of each plus my own trolling and kite rigs.
