Hi Everyone,

I recently bought a SS 970-7'S Super Seeker Spinning rod (from Charkbait of course)and just realized it does not come with a gimble. How can I add one and do they come in specific sizes?

the gimbles do come in different sizes. before cutting the hyplon have the gimble in hand for sizing first, after cuting the hyplon to measurments, mask tape around the butt (pole) for a tighter fit or add glue for permanent fit.

very easy.

Do gimbals fit inside the rodtube or over the rodtube ?

Thank you everyone!

Doesn't look too hard to figure out. I pulled the butt cap off of the SS and will measure it tonight to order the right size gimbal.

Thanks again.

Hey MMM!

According to the links I looked at (some were provided in earlier post in this thread), it fits over the rod tube (blank)...

Best!

Thats kind what I was figuring from the photos, and I need to get some new batteries for my calipers anyway, (to measure O.D.) although Calstar lists it @ .940.
I guess the hotglue used on the rodtip would suffice? And make it removable if desired.
And thanks to you and Agate for the links.

The hot glue is too brittle, and will shatter under a load. Use an epoxyto keep everything together.

P.S 5 minute epoxy will do a better job of keeping you tiptops on, also. The friction of a big fish on a summer day can heat the hotmelt enough to allow the top to fall off.
