Just read an article saying that it may be a slick technique to rig up 6 or 8 oz sinkers on your mackeral or sardine and drop the heavy string under the boat.

Has anyone fished LR "Cows" this way and what is the setup up. Rubber band, sinker and bait.

How does it all come together is the question I am asking.

23 more days...Smiler

When the boat is on anchor or drifting. Loop your rubber band around your line and your sinker. Go up to the bow of the boat and drop your line in. Let it sink until you get to the back of the boat. Then wind it in change your bait and repeat. It's supposed to work well. I personally have never tried it though.

They do tend to fall overboard or have their butts scuttled by those that aren't impressed by their "wit".

Speaking about substance abuse, we have a pack of idiots on the north coast that have sunk at least two boats and have been towed in more often in the last few years than most people have in a lifetime on the ocean. Not only are they drunks and potheads but there's rumor of meth use. These dickheads will probably survive but they WILL hurt someone eventually.

They go off shore to cook the meth, not knowing that by being in that unique area from 3.01 miles to 12.00 miles, if'n they're caught?
ahhahahahahahhaah Federal waters equate to federal time.

It's a shame there are so many losers out there on the water and showing up across the boards in forums as well.

We didn't have this big of a problem on the water when I first began working as a pinhead on the rock cod boats, 1976 in Ventura, CA.

Now? There are meatheads with their drugs everywhere.

qualudes and Meth-How did you become the experts on knowing who's on them. 'sticker-any dive motel is cheaper and easier than a rocking boat to cook speed.

Keta-petition the boatsellers, loan people, and insurance people-if these people can't get boats, they won't have boats. On the Colorado River they got MADD involved and the enforcement is more strict.

How did we get from sinkers to Tweakers ? There is random drug testing on Captains/Crews and that is supposed to weed out the problem children . I know one Captain that had his ticket yanked for failing (weed) and another for having too many DWI's . I have been tested three times in the last 12 Seasons twice in the last two . Any time there's an incident/accident I thought that all crew members had to be tested . The Sea Fox out of New Jersey got boarded returning from a tuna trip and escourted into port due to suspected drug use and fishing violations a couple of months ago .

Drugs give you cancer. The waste products from making meth is bad for the ocean and all that inhabit it. green means go red means stop."fishcat"
