I need a few new tips for fishing halibut in san diego bay,anyone have any ideas?

Depends upon how you're fishing too. If from a private boat, bounce balling works GREAT and it increases your odds of getting bit. That's the top technique for reliably catching halibut. But, you're not going to do that from a small 'yak, takes a boat that can be run at appropriate speed.
