I am trying to decide which reel would be better suited for fishing iron in the northeast for bluefin. I need a reel that i can cast iron with that is capable of heavy braid as well as large capacity, because when fishing for bluefin you can get into some in the 50-80 pound range and then hook one thats 200-400 pounds. any suggestions

How about an Avet HX 2-speed over a single speed 665 or 300?

both of those reels are great looking, AND CAPABLE OF HANDLING ALMOST ANYTHING.


the 300 is a high speed, and a bit heavy, BUILT LIKE A PIECE OF IRON.

the accurates 665 can be bought in 2 speed.
400lb bluefin = TWO SPEED.

The 300 is a brick s#$% house, but the Avet SDS is better at 60-80 and will cast also.

Accurate has two new reels coming in the boss series that you might want to wait for... The prototypes at Fred Hall were amazing. Rumor is that they should be out in a few months.
