It's that time of the year again, Fred Hall Show - Long Beach. Kind of marks the beginning of our SoCal fishing season for a lot of guys. This year marks the fifth year we'll stay home and not have a presence at the show. Instead we put the money (20K) directly towards in-store markdowns, on everything in our inventory. Cost is cost, and there's only so much a retailer can do when the cost of sale increases thru participation in a show. Putting those promotional funds towards merchandise markdowns results in across the board discounts for our clients. It's our largest store sale of the year, and it's a busy time at both of our shops. If you are local to either our Huntington Beach or San Diego shops, make it point to stop by. Our HB shop is close to the Long Beach convention center, easy to drop over early and then head over to the show.
The sale begins Wednesday 3/7 and runs thru Sunday 3/11 - 10-5 pm at both our Huntington Beach and San Diego shops.
Hit the San Diego shop this morning. Went looking to get a Okuma PCH Rod, ended up with two. Couldn’t pass up a second rod at current sale prices. All the Anglers there were stoked on the deals. In addition got a $20 gift card on check out. Your crew was great, hoping to get back once more before sale ends - Thanks Chark!
Glad you made it over. We try our best to make the trek worthwhile. It's now been five years we've approached showtime in this unorthodox manner. Each year the event has grown, and quite frankly we do show numbers during that week without overworking our crew or this old goat. Taking the markdowns, putting the advertising and booth costs to markdowns..., well, it works for everyone and I can save my old back from moving all those boxes!
Round two comes back to San Diego in a couple weeks. We've got some real zingers for that one, too.
