Anyone got a copy of Nov issue of Bass Masters? I advise you all to read. Basstrix is a small shop owned by one man...with only a few people employed. You can only make so many lures at one time. Stop trying to bad mouth Basstrix and push crapy product.

I have no feakin' idea what you are talking about but you will not get far spewing your nonsense around here. We know Mark. A lot of us have fished with Mark. If anyone got badmouthed (I haven't seen your referenced thread but I'm skeptical) then it was deserved.

Why in the world would I buy a copy of Bass Master? I have the internet and besides, I don't fish for bait unless the deckhands tell me to.

We are salt water fishermen and women first and foremost. Our focus is on the Saltwater mag's for info. Why would we peruse Bassing mags???

Because as you can see, every one of us takes this type of insult serious and checks the story ourselfs for factual content.

From past experience and knowing Mark I'd have to say your post is off base. If Basstrix wants to maximize profits at the expense of the consumer you can count me out.

I'm not a liar, but I do tend to vent frustration over B.S. in a somewhat aggressive fashion once I reach a limit. We supported Basstrix for several years time. Yes, they are a small outfit and yes they do produce a very good lure. There are many good lures out there, but they got some great publicity that grew their demand exponentially. They also thumbed their noses at pretty much all of their dealers in the process last spring and summer. They had some success on the pro bass trail last season. They failed to ship their regular dealers, but did ship ONE dealer a preponderance of their product. That ONE dealer in tern screwed the retail customers by REQUIRING that they order the same dollar amount of other crap they carried - dollar for dollar. Then they further told those customers that they could not pick the colors that they would be sent. To me, that seems like an artifical shortage was created/exasserbated, and ultimately the retail customer paid a higher price and didn't get what they ordered. That's the situation we discovered, based upon our experience and many, many calls from customers trying to locate the product.

Did we try to work with other manufacturers to remedy the problem in supply? Sure bet. And, further we still are. We have one alternative product posted on our website. We will have another that's even a closer match, at a better price, that will be posted within a months time. There is a demand that needs to be filled, and we'll do our part to help fill it. We are not responsible for Basstrix's inability to supply product. As a manufacturer, when demand exceeds supply you either increase your supply or you open the door for competitors to do so. That's economic reality. We gave Basstrix almost six months to get their act together and fill our orders. They could not, did not, and didn't provide us with any rational that would have kept us supporting them. So, we moved on to suppliers who could get the job done.

I am new here. But I only read all the message on this board. I completely agree with what the staff of charkbait message saids. Bussiness is bussiness. If you can't chatch up the production, you need to a figure up a way to do it,not saying you are short handed. I personal feel this is a nice board. You can learn a lot of fishing technique from all the experience fishmen and the charkbait staff.

Yes, Mark has some grievence towawrds Basstrix...it's called getting orders in on time and get it in the colors the customer wants! Simple business sense. If Basstrix is getting more orders than he can handle, he needs to hire more employees. What a happy dilemma. If Basstrix can't understand that, maybe he deserves being a one man business.

Mark is a stand up guy and he does not push any crappy products. We have all done business with him and many have fished with him and gotten rods and reels taken care of in his shop. This is the Charkbait Family and one way to get on our bad side is to 1) jump right in insulting Dad, and 2) jump right in insulting Dad.

And don't you make Piggie mad....oh boy, he will put the hurt on you real quick. He'll have you holdin' your ankles squealin' like a, well, piggie.

However you have accomplished one thing...I'll never spend a dime on one of these lures and I will encourage all the fishermen I know to do the same.
