The Royal Star came into the docks this morning with what may be the new I.G.F.A. world record Yellowfin Tuna. 381.1 pounds ![]() This is a phenominal way to start the 2008-2009 Long Range season. ![]() Congrats to Capt's Randy Toussaint and Brian Sims for the record breaking catch. And a HUGE congrats to the lucky angler Dennis Williams. Way to go. My hat's off to you.

It is now in the hands of the I.G.F.A. By all accounts, it should stand as the new record for the class. It is now sitting in 4th place in the top 10 all time Tuna out of the Long Range fleets for stand up fishing. What an honor huh? Plus it goes to the heart of the story when you read that one of the Crew on the Royal Star when he saw the fish yelled " Oh my God " and then yelled for alot more gaffs. I have fished with those boys, they don't get rattled. Ice water in their viens. That had to be soooo impressive when it hit the surface.

They are a step above. I am wondering though. They don't have the awesome Joey Conrad onboard any more. That was one awesome Crewman.
