Gents - I am posting this here because I am not sure what to do. I purchased an Avet reel on 6/28 (inv # 56423) and it was to come with a Reel cover. I did not receive the reel cover and was told they are on backorder. I have sent a couple emails and "still on backorder i will send it out when i get them". Well here it is mid-Sept and nothing. I apologize for this post in a public forum but well.....

Mark runs the tighest, most efficient ship around. I personally have been a customer for 5-7 years now and have waited for my stuff as well.

Now, here's the rub. The reel covers are manufactured by ANOTHER party. So, Mark and the Charkbait crew are caught between a rock ( the manufacturer ) and a hardplace ( the customer..ie: you in this case )

Now. I own a Gun Store in Missouri and get in thi9s situation all the time. I have never had a customer complaint. In fact, I sent a weapon in for repairs, FIVE MONTHS AGO and it still isn't back yet.

My Client???/ Not one worry from him.

When we as store owners, rely upon others to make goods for our reatil end, and they come up WAY short for whatever reason, we take the hit...BIGTIME...... In the eyes of the buying public, they don't give a s*&^ why, jusdt get me my product.......

Nationwide, in this life of no more delayed gratification, thanks to the very first fast food restaraunts, the world wants their product and they want it NOW.

Trust me..... Mark will get the reel covers to you the very second that he gets them....You can bet your bottom dollar on my word.


You'll be happy you waited. Best of luck and my your fishing lines be tight.

I understand the piece about the public wanting stuff *now*. This is why I have waited, and continue to be patient. I am out of state (don't live in Cali) which makes this a little more problematic. If there is a problem then tell me so and I will move on vs pinging them every couple of weeks to find out.

Seriously its just a reel cover. However, you do have a legit gripe. Someone at Charkbait should try to work out something with you. I've called on occasion and Chark, who actually picks up the phone quite often is more then willing to help.

Hi "Fisherperson" - I own this place and can be contacted easily through email - link is posted at the bottom of each page. That's typically the best way to contact me rather than the board. Leeana and Paul here are the folks who typically handle orders, but if there's an issue it should definately come back to me personally, and some butt-kicking can be applied as needed.
With respect to reel covers, which we supply at no charge for certain reel purchases (Avet & Accurate), yes we have had difficulty with our supplier - never had enough stock through this summer. But, stock has indeed been arriving, just not in the quantities that it should have. We have a good inventory of all sizes now, can't really say we have looked this good all season long. My shipping manager Tom (who has been with me for over 10 years) would have shipped your reel without cover if it was not in stock. Then he would have kept your info to ship the cover upon arrival. No doubt, in this amount of time that should have occured. If Tom made an error with respect to his back order report, then that would explain the long wait - he simply did not have the correct record.

I can not look things up given the number you supplied. That's your on-line order number rather than your actual invoice number. On my computers those are purged each month. On Leeana's computer we may be able to search with that number verses your actual invoice which was emailed back to you and also came along with the reel. If you supply me your name I can easily reference the order and fix situation today. Same, if you email Paul or Leeana, they can follow up and get things handled. We're not hard to reach, phone - 2 toll free numbers, email - several folks available to help, and yes even a public board. All work, but generally the more direct route works best. If you had emailed us and did not get a reply please let me know. That would indicate that I dropped a ball with an address or configuration and I'd sure like to know about that one!

* Leeana and Tom arrived and I checked their back order report. Your cover was sent out USPS late July. If you have not received then there was an issue with the mail. Tom is sending another one to you today. Again, please let me know who you had contact with here via email so I can follow up in terms of their customer service follow-through.
