I ordered a HX 5/2 yesterday and was disappointed to find that the new reel comes with a plastic handle.
A phone call to Chark has him replacing the handle with an old style aluminum unit. They did this for me on a JX I bought last year. Great stuff!!!

I told Chark that we should start a campaign with Avet to save the metal handles, at least offer them as an option.

If you agree that the old style handles are more comfortable and durable, please make your opinion known.

I like the factory made newer handles, but I wish that the lever was knotched or something so that It would stick at strike and not slide up to full so easily, I pop mine into gear too fast sometimes and if I go into full, pop-goes-the-mono.
