sorry, first post. I'm trying to figure out what I need to bring for my trip. This is my third boat ride and its been different every time. first trip was a three day lilly pad venture, second was a five day trip to the lupe. this year we are going a little earlier and I don't know what to expect
well let me start of by saying hello and welcome aboard, as for your question any five day trip can be a great trip. obviously with your past exp, maybe this time you have a very good chance on fishing the cedros. lupe from what i hear is having permit issues , but all that can change . if you do go to cedros , it,s great yellowtail fishing. the average size are in the 30,s .
pack a 800h w/ your favorite 30 or 40 reel and tye an iron , zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz have fun.
Right now, you will be headding out to catch albacore (probably on your way out), so have an albie rod ready before you leave. You will spend the night in the grounds, fish the morning, then haul ass straight south to Cedros. Fish the iron ( I like Salas 6x jr in Scramble egg) for one day and the begin your way home looking for paddies. Live bait is always good on these.
This is just a guess, I don't have profess to be a visionary. But, let me know how it did!!
Welcome! For the most current info look at the fishing reports available on several different websites, including fisherman's landing, etc. You'll see what's currently biting. Of course, that is able to change in a heartbeat, so be prepared for anything! I'm sure you'll have a great time. Which boat you going on?
Thanks guys. I'm going on the Top Gun. just got a new 8ft super seeker for my jx 2 and am looking forward to using iron for the first time... everbody duck
