I just got one, this is not a dainty little phone and I think it will be one I can't kill while out fishing.

Sounds like you just have way too much money. And I kinda doubt it was designed to dunk in saltwater.
We had a solicitor (lawyer) on a 10 day trip to dive the Repulse/Prince of Wales off Tioman in Malaysia, this guy was on the phone constantly, I mean every waking hour he wasn't diving.
We lost the anchor on a Dutch sub and had to wait for a replacement to arrive from Sing.So we go to the local pub to drink it dry and on return to the mothership people start falling out of the panga. He falls off and the only thing we see in the spotlight was his arm holding the cellphone out of the water, needless to say it helped little. Although he was able to swap simcards with his mate and continue his incessant chatting.
It was to say the least a Kodak moment.

It was $119.00 but we are on a 2 year contract and the wife and daughter also got phones.

This was upgrade time as I was using a StarTac (Aka dinosaur) didigtal/analogue phone and the wife and kid were using phones that were 3 years old.

The claim on this one is it will actually submerse and survive, not that I plan to do that but I do worry about salt spray since I'm runnung a skiff.

The startac was the best motorola I ever had. Hell it must have been 15? yrs old.

I'd still be using it but they are phasing out the analog system here so in a few months it won't work.

This new one seems to be a pretty good phone so we'll see how it goes.
