Ok inside of 38 weeks left till my 15 day trip on the Intrepid, (Jan 2014). I've downloaded and watched every video I've come across. My wife has had to put the big brakes on my spending online at CharkBait. I feel like I know Mark, Beta and others, (thanks for all the advice). I've built a machine in my yard out of oil field pipe, cable and weights including a make shift crank to simulate a "Big Cow",, (neighbors think I've lost it) wake up in the middle of the night "Fishing". I'm on a 5 day here in Texas but not even thinking about it due to "The Intrepid Trip".. My question is there a "AA" for my problem??? Thanks to All

No, speaking from experience, there are no support groups for this
Kind of affliction. However, I did send my wife to a new group because
I got tired of listening to her complain about my fishing,
I sent her on&on&on annon. It didn't stop her from complaining,
But it did offer me more time to fish.

Just a thought!

Nope! The only cure is to take smaller trips, more often to keep yourself in the game. I would recommend a thorough trial run of your geer. Well that's how I justify it to my wife....not that it helps. Happy fishing!

I have been fishing So Cal since age 7 and long range since 16. I am 46 now. The sickness never ends. I remember renting all the old long range videos that were made before spectra and guys would clip on their 50W outfits to a new one when they ran out of line on a cow, lock down the drag, and throw it in the ocean. Hardcore throwing $1K outfit in the drink. Thanks for the laughs on your post!

Tackle stores love me.
Fish fear me.

yes I too got an early start. Living in Redondo Beach as a kid my dad and I would go out fishing from Redondo on "The Barge" I remember being scared to death of the step off from the boat to the ladder of the barge. We would stay all day and eat a world famous cheese burger. My dad would tell me wild stories about the "Denominator" Moved to Texas in 1973 and gave up salt water until 2007 after retiring I've been "deep sea" dreaming ever since. Now at 55 Can't wait for my trip on the Intrepid in January.
