Hey Piggie how you doing. I've been out of the loop here for awhile. I'm going on the Angler again in January. I had wanted to make it in early December and in fact was on the wait list but things didn't work out for that time frame to get outta here.

So now I'm leaving on January 5 with the hopes that the big boys still want to play. Are you going this winter? I seem to recall some post saying you weren't but not sure.

I am hoping to go. I am waiting on funds to become available. I am also waiting on word from some folks in WI. I am running ads for those who want their freezer filled, but, can't do the trips do to age or orther reasons. They pay, I'll play. They get the fish.
Cover the expenses and I'll do the work.
To me and what some of the Top Capt.s are saying is this is shaping up the exact same way that 2005 did and we all know how the books closed on that season.

Something you need to know before you go

I've heard that it's OK to give it away for a tax break, at whatever market price.

So far, that has not been a problem for me, I only harvest what I will eat and give away.

There is no sale. There is no profit. They are simply paying for the trip and getting the fish that is caught. No profits at all. That is NOT illegal.
I believe that Olliebear can reaffirm this. The law as it written is never covered as such. It is always interpruted in a court of law as to how it reads. To me it is very frustrating because I am so black and white that it hurts. I see no grey areas in life.
I also work for my Wife's Law firm and would NEVER jepordize us for a silly load of fish.
I do hiowever, thank ADATE D for his concern in this matter. That was very kind of him to point that out as I see this as him simply looking out for what's right and honest.
I will pull the research books ie: CA. codes and research this in depth.
That's why I stay on this forum alone.
They pay the expenses, I catch the fish. to the exact precise penny. I even cover my expenses there and back.

PS, I've been good. Was sweating it for awhile as I didn't think I would get down this winter. I was originally scheduled on the same trip as last year the day after Xmas and on the wait list for 12/4. Well the 12/4 has never opened up and then my mom wanted to come for Christmas. She's getting up there so I wasn't going to tell her no so I could go fishing.

So now I'm on the trip for 1/5. I'm already totally excited. Can't wait. Things are good for me and my clan. I haven't seen Ollie on here for awhile.

Hope you can get it worked out to do a trip. They still have a couple of open spots on the Angler for the 5th. Jump aboard.

The Shogun is running a 10 day leaving 12/26 and its only got 4 signed up.

FYI- I was on the Shogun on 12/26 paid for, airline booked, hotel paid for, Frank cancelled the trip last week. ( if Scotti or Andrea has told you differently this week what the (&*^%)is going on.

Now I am awaiting my check back so I can book on the Intrepid or the RS or the Excel or the AA.

Just hope Frank Lo sends me my cash fast. Reason being, I just maxedout all my creidt on my retiremnt patio home here in Colorado and have no spending money after Kathy(wife of 37 years) went to the custom design center and tripled my 10 day trip in upgrades.

All in all I will get on a boat for sure and try my hand at Super Cow's come 12/26.

Pigsticker...You are neither selling or bartering fish you are an exstension of a contract between parties for you to catch and return agreed upon items to those who underwrote the expense.

Check out ALR or AM jUR on line or use Westlaw and search for trade, commerce or edibible and see what the statutes and regs say.

Here in Colorado donations are widley done to non profits as well as individuals who in turn have supplemented expenses.

No, I am not a JD but have lived in their backyard for years selling them research resources.

People---I wasn't trying to put down what Pigsticker is doing-I just know that Californis has laws that a lot of other states don't have.
