Lessons Learned for an 11 day fall trip:

1) Bring a fitted sheet for a single bed for your bunk. Your sheet will not come undone and you will not stick to plastic.

2) Fish sardines and wire for wahoo. When you feel your bait run and suddenly stop, wait at least 10 seconds for the gator to come back before giving up. More often than not, he will come back.

3) Marlin are fun to hook, but there is a reson that most captains don't like them.

4) If you have a favorite trolling lure, bring an extra.

5) Giant tuna are not an absolute necessity for a wonderful fall trip. (They just make it a little better).

Louie, fortunately, I don't drink! I loved the look on Justin Flecks face when he told me my bar tab was $3. Two soft drinks!!!!

I failed to add one good tip that I developed myself. I bought some powdered propel from the grocery. It is about $3 for 10 pouches. I took two boxes and a couple of empty water bottles. I kept one in the fridge and one at my tackle box. I never had to go inside to get something to drink. I had enough for the entire trip and it didn't take up any space at all.

I love the looks for the $3-5 dollar tabs. I also do not drink and I usually bring 2-3 cases of my favorite Peach water. That peach water is my addiciton.

I get some serious looks like you do of utter
" W.T.F."? but, I make up for it with a good tip. That and I usually run up a good tab on fresh line refills.

I will now pack a fitted sheet in with my Long Range gear in the storage closet.
Thanks for that tip.

In 3 trips I bought 1 beer for a new friend, the rest of the time I drink massive volumes of iced tap water and have a tab of "$0.00. The savings go into the tip fund.

The fitted sheet tip was one of the best I've seen, I usually end up with all of the sheets in a ball with me somewhere in the tangle.

Cents this thread has kinda gone into "Tips" I gots one.

There ain't enough cloths hooks in the staterooms on the Rooster.

So I went to the hardware store and got some of those stick on kind. I pulled the stickem tape off and replaced it with "Industrial" Velcro stickems. (the grabber side not the fuzzy side)

It sticks to the carpet stuff on the walls real good and causes no damage when you take it off.

It ain't really strong enough to hold a bunch of cloths but does allow for more vertical storage. I have also added a eye glass holder and a flash light holder.

i must admit, cool chill water do sound good at times.

i also like the beer for the cool evening buz , right before the dinner.lol

as for clothing and all, i do hang what i find available in the room, but the rest go in the drawers.

i keep things out of the way, so if i trip or fall off the bunk , it would,nt hurt as bad.lol

and for those of you know what im talking about.lol
