Hey Guys and Gals, there has been a HUGE interest in another thread by other members here in the forum.

We need to get a good concensus so thet we can hopefully get Mark the Chark onboard. We are so far, interested in the new fishing yacht " The Intrepid ". If we can garner enough interest and people, we maybe able to pull off either a Charter or an open trip.

An open party trip, won't leave the Chark's ass swaying in the breeze if we can't fill the boat. Annnnnddddd, an open party will introduce outsider's to the Chark family.

We're shooting for Feb. March 2008 or 2009.
Let's get some feed back coming in and get this off the ground.

That might be a good idea, also having people from the forum might help weed out the "problem" people on alot of trips we all deal with.

I think most all will agree that the folks who have been on our charters are wonderful folks. That's one big positive, mainly due I think to the fact that we do all our own booking for the trips. We have to commit to "owning" the boat, any shortfall in passenger count becomes a financial liability. But, the upside is that we know something about everyone on the trip and have a good opportunity to talk to 'em.

I'd love to do a 16, but time is really hard to come by. We've got a lot on the table, and always seem to run a short staff. So, it's darn hard to loose someone for that long. It's bad enough when the Beth takes a week off or I do the 10 day'r. With a 16, I'd face mutiny upon my return.

MARK!!! I am a geen yus!

You go the first 8 days, then, you rotate out with that little Hottie Beth by helicopter.

Sheesh. Problem solved. If that's the case....
how's about an open party? We all just pick a Boat, (Intrepid) and send (intreip) all of (Intrepid) our deposits (intrepid) into their (intrepid) office.

Make no mistake Intrepid about it. We employ intrepid nothing here intrepid like intrepid Subliminal thought intrepid processing to influence intrepid anyone's choice intrepid on a Vessel.

IN FACT!!!

I'll personally put up a 1 on 1 Guided Pig Hunt for the Jackpot for this trip!

I will also try to gain sponsorship from folks in the Tackle industry that I have met in my Travels.

Who else is onboard with this? Let's make it a 10 dayer that Mark the " Chark " can do without a Mutiny.

We really need to think about Mark gang. Without Him, this forum aint here.

I think a 10 dayer is do-able. 16 days is pretty much paying for a taxi ride at +$325/day for 4 days down and 4 days back. 8 days of very expensive taxi rides. Let's not forget the 15% tip that makes it close to $500 on top of the $3,250, plus $80 to park for 10 days and flights and hotel.

On the other hand, I've been dying to try the Gulf Coast. And with so many of the members living in the midwest and Eastearn Seaboard, the equivalnet cost for a 10 dayer on the Intrepid (now at +$4,000) would buy us a hell of a lot of fishing on the 6 packs--day after day after day...and partying at the local watering hole afterwards every night. With coin leftover for Alka Seltzer for the hangovers.

Or a hell of a good time fishing in Baja at Loreto or Los Barilles, or something. We can fly down to Loretto or Las Barilles cheap nad stay at good hotles at reasonblae cost and eat like kings then get either 6 pckaers or super pangas for awsome YT and YF and dorados and monster size groupers and sailfish. (Western Outdoors magazine always has pictures of Captain Juanita Miller of Loretto who used to own/skipper El Fuertes Fishing and every picture of here in the magazine is hot hot hot--blond, slender, great big pair of "life preservers".......whooo whooooo! She and her hubby has sold El Fuerte and they work as part of Bisbee Sport Fishing in Cabo now.) And have coin left over to have young hotties rub the kinks out of our sore bods every night and still buy the wifezillas some cheap ass gifts.

Just tossing out ideas and alternatives.

I am definetly down to go, I just need to know how much money I should plan on spending so I can start saving. It is hard to say how much money I will have by the date of the trip. I don't think I would have enough to pay for the trip and the gear, so the Reel/rod co sponsorship becomes very important. That is unless someone on the trip is willing to let me rent some of their extra gear...

I would much prefer an LR trip to a Baja 6 pack trip though...

Whatever boat you guys pick I trust you.

One of our business' is a uniform company, I wouldn't be able to funnel money for sponsorship, but I could get some nice t's or polos or jackets with embroidery for a trip like that. Just an idea

Trapt. Most of the Boats have rental gear. I have used it every trip. You only pay for the line used.

I will be more than happy to share my Tackle box with you. In light of all the B.S. with Mexico and immigration......I'll stick to long range and a meager $15.00 per day fishing permits.

I can not bring myself to stoke their economy any more than that.

LR for me Baby.

It scares me to think of the stories that would come back with Ollie the animal.

Haha. Thanks Pigsticker. Its just hard to say what my finances will be in two years. I might have graduated, gotten a good job, and have a fat wallet. Or I could be flat ass broke trying to find a job and finish my degree.

But if there is any way possible I will make this trip, should we decicde to make it happen.

I would love to fish a 10 dayer but only if Mark AND Beth are there as well. I've spoken to both of them and feel like I know them since I spend so much time on this site drooling over the tackle...if that trip is not feasible there are some great Gulf Coast trips to the middle grounds etc and I am up for that as well.

I Guide in 2 States. Ca. for Pig, Deer, Turkey, Tule Elk, Dove and Quail. 6500 acres between King City and Coalinga

Missouri for Whitetail Deer and Turkeys.
13,000 extensively managed acres, that should be 20,000 acres by this fall. We sold out of our 2007 Whitetail Gun hunts by the first week of Feb.

Still have 6 Archery spots open. Guided, food and loding...... or Guided, you do the food and lodging.

I also broker hunts, for any species, anywhere in the world. I do the work for you in finding the TOP Outfitters in the world.

Thoughts on a Charkbait Forum trip.

I am hopeing that Carol of the Intrepid was able to speak with MS at the Fred Hall show and discuss a LR trip.

I would love to fish with all of you. It would be an adventure to be sure.

Chark - any contact with Carol of the Intrepid at the show?
