As I am growing older (was 74 last June) a two-speed reel is more and more advantageous. This last week, I put numerous yellowfin tuna (averaging about 25#) in the boat, while fishing at Rancho Leonero on Baja California's East Cape. I was using an Avet MXJ Raptor and the two-speed was a great help to my muscles, especially after the fifth or sixth fish.
I also landed a 40# roosterfish from a panga. The two speed Avet JX I was using really aided this old guy fight that strong fish...
