Do you still have any of the Diawa Saltist 50's WITH NO LEVEL WIND still left in stock? Or do they even make that in this configuration anymore? I have fished that reel and it was as tough as nails and I could cast a 4-6 oz jig a Country Mile. Thanks. Tom

I know you asked Mark but I thought I would chime in. The Saltist does come in the 50 size both star and lever drag. They are the newer style and I think an improvement over the older style. It looks like they come in a 6.4 to 1 (star drag) and a 6.3 to 1 (lever drag). That gearing seems a bit high to me but I have not fished one so I cant speak of their cranking power. Here is a link to the page. http://www.charkbait.com/cs/csrd.htm

Thanks for the feedback So Cal. I used the 6.1 gear ratio old style on an 10 dayer 5 years ago and when we got into Turtle Bay on the way home??? Holy Cow. I was out catching EVERYONE including the crew on a W.F.O. Yellowtail bite to the tune of 3 to 1. I snuck on a scrabled Egg Jig and was just hammering the fish. I limited out inside of 45 minutes. DONE. Then? I had other customers asking me to help fill their tags. I really like the super high speed retrieval on the yoyo for the Tails.
