Got a chance to go to Hawaii for a couple of days, this weekend ($200 from LAX) Figure it might be fun, anyone know of any inexpensive hotel/motels on the island ?

Hey mnrd55, this is a late post, but next time you get a chance to go to the Islands, make sure that you compare package deals to the other offers. Then if you can't see any thing that you like. Hawaii always have small towns and they have small bread and breakfast type offers. You just have to spend some time driving to these small communities and take in the surroundings. You may be surprised and you may like it. Nothing fancy, just a room. I am from the Islands, and it has changed since I last visited my family there, but the Aloha Spirit still lives on in the hearts of the people of the Islands. My father and all my uncles and aunts were born on Maui and I was born on Oahu, I have cousins living on the Big Island of Hawaii. Stay as far away from the tourist traps as you can.
