My one and only trip to SD was last year and I stayed at the Vagabond. Paid about $175 a night. Where do you prefer to stay and what do you expect to pay. Booking my trip for July on the Excel.

For the ease of access and price the Dolphin Motel is a great bargin.

I roll a cart across the parking lot right up to my room load my gear and head back to the docks.

Clean sheets, hot water and room for all your gear. ask for a ground level room though. parking is also ample.

SD, thanks for the quick reply. I have heard mixed reviews on the Dolphin. What do you typically pay? I am all about saving a buck and the ease of getting gear to the docks. All I want is a clean, safe room to get a good nights sleep before bent rods.

I paid 69.00 for one night and they would store my gear for $7.00 per day if necessary.

Fishermans landing has a big storage room for all the rod tubes or cases that you do not want to take onboard.

i went to register in, and some dude walked by my truck, peaking inside and i ran out to see what he was up to.
