I normally order what I "need" weeks before I need it but Christmas got in the way and I made my order a bit late. Well, with the severe weather we've been having here and the drive to SD on the 17th I got nervious and called Mark to expedite my order. Mark must be a real slave driver as I received my order that afternoon! D'oh!

I did an experiment just over a year ago. I order 2 packs of hooks from 3 other dealers, or hacks, online.

HOLY CRAP! what a mistake it is to leave Chark.
This was to prove a point about real service.

Just to get 2 packs of hooks, just 2, nothing close to rocket science, it took almost 2 weeks to get them in the mail.

I moron, charged my credit card INSTANTLLY, and after 5 weeks, the hooks still hadn't been sent. I went to the U.S. banking officials and began credit card fraud charges against this jerk. He then sent my hooks, refunded my money and then asked me to re-pay him.

I got the hooks, refused to re-pay and concluded my experiment.

I even spent 2 years researching all the tackle, rods, reels, line, lures, sinkers, everything for a 15 day trip, from every single dealer I could find online.

Marks prices and service beat them all hands down. That is why I have his logo on my website, linked back to his website.

I love Charkbait and normally get all of my gear from them, which has been extensive since I am new to LR fishing. I will say that my orders normally take close to 10-14 days before I get them. My last order didn't ship for a week and then took another 4-5 days. In spite of this, I will continue to be a loyal customer.

Not everyone gets the teleportation service.
From the time they cot my check to the time the package was delivered was about 10 days, not bad by my standards.

Let's not forget, that if you pay with a check, the check has to clear. then and only then, when the funds are cleared, will orders be shipped.

In Chark's 11 years of shipping as a dealer, his on time performance rivals that of Bass Pro and Cabelas together.

1 out of 1,000 orders going out late is not a bad thing.

I send certified checks or money orders if I don't use my debit card so the check clearing isn't ever an issue.

I use my Amex which helps me to buy my airfare to San Diego once a year.

I send bounced checks, I.O.U.'s and promises. Maybe that's why it takes several months at a time to git me orders.

Its Nov 2,07. Getting misc. "Stuff" for a 2 dayer out of Newport on the Amigo on Nov 22. You Know... some 118 hooks 2/0, 3/0. some exotic mono I wanted to try that the Charkster did not carry and some large swivels for rigging up some hoochies for the troll. The small P-Line Tuna Tempters. So I call Bass Pro who has the line I want to try and the rest of the stuff I want. Its all in stock. The pleasant little she twit at the other end of the line proceeds to ask me if its OK to ship in 3 weeks. I say WHAT !!!!!! 3 weeks to ship and its in stock. I asked her if she was serious , which produced a giggling "of course I'm serious" . I told her to cancel the entire order, about $80 bucks. Get in my car, drive to the Charkster's about 45 min. from Walnut Calif, settle for my usual Ixor XXX , get the other goodies I needed and saved some money to boot.

I could have orderd on line from the shop but I was sill fumming and had to calm down.
My sons family lives in Garden Grove which is close to the shop. I stop by my sons, get a hug from my grand daughter and head back to Walnut a calm and happy camper.

Thanks guys. We have our glitches too, but we're working on 'em and do try to take care of things when we blow it or make an error. One thing that's working well now is the warehouse. The folks handling things there are doing a great job coordinating with the shop, moving gear back and forth... The new software and scanning system is integrating well, too. So, I think we are moving in the right direction and fine tuning the operation in a positive manner.

Now, on the personal side... the little wifey is growing nicely and all systems are go for the baby. We've been trying to bring her mom over to help and be a part of the delivery in March, but we're hitting a brick wall with the embassy in Kyiv. Still trying to work on that one with our Congressman.
