The Chubasco II 3/4 boat out of San Diego has reported catches of YFT and Dorado for the last 3 days! Is that normal? I can't believe I am stuck in ARIZONA!

September and October are historically our best months for "local" tuna and dorado. This year will be no exception, especially as the effects of the huricane a couple weeks ago fades away. Great Stuff! Mark

Best catches have been in US waters, and overnight trips doing better, but we started fishing in 3/4 day range. The fishing got better when we got further out toward San Clemente Island.

While this is unusual it's by no means rare. We have an El Nino going on and it wouldn't surprise me to see exotics as far north as Catalina or farther. In '98 they were slaying football YFT on the SanDawg half day boats. I had just changed careers & didn't have the $$$ for a half day trip. Talk about dieing a slow death! ![]() Fishslayer

we have had one of the best years as far as dorado goes, on our 3/4 day boats, even on our 1.5 or 2 day trips don't even have to leave U.S. waters, i'll be going on THE BLACK PEARL this weekend, i'm sure we will be hitting the kelp paddy's for do do's and yt's, i'll post a little something to let you guy's know whats hitting where, size etc.. Well, I'm a Seaforth Landing fan myself, but... Here ya go... http://www.hmlanding.com/boats/charger.htm Doesn't look like they offer 3/4 day trips. The San Diego out of Seaforth is my favorite 3/4 day boat. Fishslayer
