Nice relaxing trip down the baja for a full limit of nice yellwotail.
Full boat but as always plenty of room to fish. Frank runs a great trip and he work super hard on the offshore bluefin bite tat just didn't happen. We had on stop for some 30 fish for the effort.
Always a great MV of fish from.
Hats off to a great crew and they truly are one of the best on the LR fleet.
Thanks for the report Bruce. Sounds like they tried to make the best of a frustrating time on the bluefin. Our own 2 day on the Pac Queen saw plenty of bluefin. But, everytime the boat got 'em interested they were harrassed by the purse seiners (probably Japanese) fishing Mexican waters. It was crazy, helicopter, commercials trying to get on top and push out the sportboat... Not so good, and plenty of frustration. Kind of with the Japanese folks would concentrate their commercial fishing in their own neighborhood... If it weren't for that, this would go down as one of the best bluefin years we've seen in the past 30 years. Just too much pressure on 'em.
Karate Chop those nets!!!!!!
A 12 guage into the copter stops these problems---Never mind the legality-the seiners are not running legal, anyway!
