The guys returned to the dock this morning after the 4 day RRIII charter. Interesting trip, Andy Cates skippered the trip, with chartermaster Jeff Lambert from our shop along with 27 other anglers. Jeff said they got ¾ limits of nicer yellowtail with some schoolies mixed in. They also spent part of a day searching for tuna, but with Guadalupe closed, didn't get to play with the yellowfin. Dennis Rinehart of Napa won first place for a 37.3-pound yellowtail. Dick Volbeda of Upland was only a tenth behind him with a 37.2-pounder, and “Cigar Bob” Eudaly of Apple valley won third place for a 35-pound yellowtail
“We fished at Cedros/Benitos,” said Cates, “and it was best for big yellowtail and white seabass in the dark, on the dropper loop. There was lots of squid around, and the weather was nice.”
