Just a quick report confirming that the Yellow Fin and the Blue Fin are on an epic bite about 130 miles down. Just returned today from a 2 1/2 day'er. on the Eclipse. 112 YF, 34 BF and 19 yellow tails. Six BF were in the 60-80 lb. range. Stopped counting the standard tuna after the 8th one. Just started giving them to the guys with a banana in their pockets. The big BF were to my best information and observation caught with 2-3 oz. of lead about 4 ft. up from the hook. To increase the chances of a corner of the mouth hook up 5/0 to 7/0 circle hooks were pinned to the largest sardine you could find, most were hose hooked. 40-50 lb. fluorocarbon leaders. And make sure your reel will hold at least 400 yds. of string. A long soak was mandatory. The one I hooked bit about 150 yds. from the boat. Same with the others all on a long soak. So if you get a chance jump on a 2.5 day'er and get your sholders pulled out of their sockets. Hopefully they will come up into the 1 1/2 day range. When that happens the party will go postal. You won't go wrong riding the Eclipse. Very Clean boat, great Captain and crew. The will work hard to put you on fish. Walt

Sounds great Walt! Hope to get down there soon to try for a decent sized bluefin! I am getting my gear ready and just have to put new topshots on. Chad Tackle stores love me. Fish fear me.
