Returned from our day-and-a-half charter aboard the Tribute out of Seaforth Landing, San Diego. Nice boat, not current state of the art long range boat, but a boat with long range history. Yes, the boat is really set up as an upgrade cattle boat in many respects - bunks stacked down below. Skipper and crew are excellent, top notch guys and gal working the boat. It's a Bill Poole design, used to be known as the Polaris III when originally launched in 1966 (I believe). We fished Colonete, target was rockfish and yellowtail. We caught a handful of quality yellowtail, and loaded up on the rockfish - a few varieties, a couple lingcod, bonito... We did not go for the tuna, kept an eye out but nothing popped. That was fine for me, we needed some white meat back home! Very relaxed fishing, a wonderful break from landbased reality to be on a boat with 28 like minded guys trying to put some meat on the table. Getting out on the water is simply rejuvenating. Video posted as a Pic of the Week - on our YouTube Channel - CharkBait USA Great Stuff! Mark | ||
