I plan on matching a Avet JX 6/3 MC with 65# Spectra and 40# Top shot mono.
With a seeker rod. I need help selecting the proper rod for Snapper and Grouper fishing in the Gulf/Keys and Dry Tortugas.
Thank you for any help...

Try a hercules SHS 70M-7 for jigging or a Super Seeker SS 6470-7' for live bait. These should give the fish a run for their money!

Since Chark is now carrying Rainshadow, take a look at the RainShadow RCLB 70H RCJB84H 40-60# 7 feet. I have this rod (custom wrapped RCJB84H) for the last 2 years in the gulf, mostly jigging. It is a beast at 40lbs. Lots of snapper, blackfin, amberjacks and a several yellowfin. It has a reasonably firm tip (not soft), but plenty of flex and a lot of backbone.
