For us here it's that time of the year, the die hards are still hoping that the Albacore will make a last ditch shownig, salmon season is closed here in Eureka and getting that way elsewhere as well.
About all we have to look foreward to here is rockfish and of course CRAB! Weather permiting when crab season opens and we fortunate hardy souls will brave the elements and set our traps for the tastiest treat to come out of the water. It won't be long though we'll all be hunkered down keeping warm and dry during those fierce pacific storms dreaming of the fishing we'll do next season. Jan, Drag your boat up to Brookings and fish for Oregon salmon, I think the season is still open. Life's Tough, Then You Die |

I'd love to but I had to put the boat away for the winter as my wife has had her cancer return for the third time and she's taking chemo and not feeling real well and I'm pretty busy taking care of her.
The prognosis isn't real good (As in possibly terminal) so my heart just hasn't been into fishing much since July. Making Humboldt bay safe for bait one halibut at a time |
