Dude , I went down to work but didn't go . Only 8 showed up !!! They went out but no report yet . Had some loose ends at home to tie up as I'm going to AC tomorrow . I will be fishing on Black Friday and trying to work Sunday . The D Man caught a short on Saturday's trip . It's tough out there right now . I guess that I'll try and start the bite Friday !!! 7oz Croc and my 6/1 Diawa hs should do the trick . Churn and burn Baby !!! Quick cranking will keep you from freezing .

Dee , Your one fish may have started the bite . The weather might be crappy Thursday . Just hope for cold water . I just looked at the Rutgers Water temp.site and we could still be fishing Tunas . No interest .

We were down there . Did you see that pile of birds around 10:00 about 2 miles off ? Thats the first good bird works that I've seen in a month . Just Gator Blues though . We caught a bunch of shorts inshore by you guys . No keepers this time just Big Blues . They were all full of Herring . 7oz Crocs and the quick crank were the ticket . I think that we turned the corner and the fishing will get better this week .Capt. Mike and I each caught a Gator in a couple of casts .I tried to hand my fish off but no one wanted to take it .

Walt , why do you always have to tease me ? Thats one slob of a Yellow and on my favorite boat to boot . Russell , We were in the pack Sunday for a while but caught most of our keepers around a mile and 1/2 off shore . We only had one small Bluefish but got at least a dozen Stripers between 29" and 32" with one around 20# . Not a lot of shorts . The bait to go to was the Croc again with fish eating on the sink/ quick crank .

I only have luck with the crock on the gambler,I've been trying it on my budys boat with no luck,my budy was out fishing me with a white umbrella jig.hopefully this blow comming through slows them for a couple of days.quick ? what type of rod would match my needs for the penn 30 wide? All rollers or just the 2 rollers.I was looking at IGFA rods but not to sure which size or style would be good for makos.I do have 450 yds 80#mono on there but I'm thinking of putting on 700yds of 80lb braid instead.Any suggestions please let me know....

I'd stick to the mono for now . You will probably chase down the shark so you don't need that much line . I'd also look into all rollers . The Penn rods that you mentioned are nice . I have one .I think it's the 30 lb @ 6'6" I'll bring it when you come fishing , you can fit your reel on it and we can pull away.

this sunday I wont make it but the following sunday I,m going for sure.Is there any other days you go out beside sunday's?I think the 80# is pretty thick for the 30,I was even of thinking of just going with a 60lb. mono instead of the braided. thanks for the info
