has anyone tried hi-vis line on long range trips? With flourocabon leader, should be no problem underwater-and it would help a lot of tangles. Am I wrong?

I'll bet at least 90% of long range fishermen use white spectra. Hi Vis would certainly make your line stand out -- and make it easy to decide who to blame for tangles. I'm not sure it would reduce tangles.

I actually meant the mono. Momoi and others make glow in the sun products. I have used them elsewhere and they work with a few feet o floro. The yellow makes the line visible to people.

Almost no one on LR trips fishes more than a few feet of mono, and then only before a splice to fluorocarbon. I have yet to see anyone fishing hi vision on a LR trip.

Typically the hi-vis mono is a tool for trollers, easier for most to see at a distance in that application, and a good way to differentiate lines in a larger spread of trolling lines/lures. At the rail, fishing bait or jigs, no one uses hi-vis, it would not serve a purpose and could be a negative. I'm with AK. There's also that negative should you get into a tangle with other anglers. No doubt one would hear, "Who's got the yellow line?" If it happens twice, no doubt the rest of the trip guys next to you may be a little more cautious...

Great Stuff!
