Trolling rod for albacore recommendations?

What would members recommend for trolling for albacore? My reels all have a long mono topshot, if that matters.

It appears to me that some rods get hit more often than others. I suspect that an overly stiff rod jerks the lure a bit too much. This might make the lure appear less natural, or might be harder for the fish to grab.

Trolling for albies... The question will be the line test being used, then is the rod matched to that test and drag load? Stiffness of rod, it's a function of the load/test line it was designed to fish, and at that load it's bend. Now, if the rod is not matched to the line test, then it's not helping cushion a strike and you're mono will be absorbing those forces and provide some give/stretch. I don't see a difference in lure action as a result of the rod.

Great Stuff!

I use a long topshot of 50 lb. mono. I have my own boat and usually bring 4 trolling rods of my own. Reels are TLD 20s.
We try to get the fish in the boat asap, and start the bleeding, carking, and cooling down.

Probably will use one of the UC rods.

Look over the RCX series boat rods, 6' would be my call, the 50-80.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up ordering a 7' rod, to be more multi purpose. Bought the Conventional Elite in 40-60.

Will buy two trolling rods once I inspect this one or try it in the ocean.
