I have a calstar 700xh rod and I would like some recommendations for a reel selection. Plan on using for live bait.

Budget range you want to stay within?
Most common lines you will use?
Most common fishing location/style you will do? [3-5 day day San Diego long range, Baja cruisers, Costa Rica, etc, etc]?

I will primarily fish 40 to 60 lb test line. Live bait, 1.5 to 5 day trips. Open budget.

Most anglers feel like the "sweet spot" for the 700XH is at 50-60, so I assume you will use those most often.
If your budget is open, an excellent match for that rod is the Penn Torque TRQ40NLD2, which will hold 500-plus yards of 80-pound braid plus a short topshot.
If you go with 65-pound braid, you can up the yardage to 600-plus yards.
Only 27 ounces, 40 pounds of max drag, very low "side load" due to thrust bearing, great freespool/castability, and made in USA.

I am a Penn fan but what about comparable reels from Avet or Accurate? Thanks
