Twisted line
Hi ALL,

Using ToroTamer 30lbs with Sunline 30lbs. Everything works great so far, nail knot worked great, Flouro didn’t slip....etc... happy with it. However my flipping jig (freshwater style) seem to twist the line a lot. I learned that with the line dragging behind the boat the line will untwist itself. Let’s say I don’t have the luxury of this, any other tricks to get it un-twist?

You've discovered the only way to clear spun lines that I know of. I suppose a fellow could make use of a ball bearing mini swivel, but that adds a complication to the simplicity of your rigging. I wouldn't worry too much about it since the braid can accept some twisting, memory not an issue like mono, and then clear the twists when they become problematic every once in a while...

Thanks Mark,
My only worry is if/when I need to spice another leader into it, the twisted line might make it impossible for needle to go in. I have 9feet now and that should last me a month of Bass fishing. Time will tell. Smiler

Happens to me too when bait fishing, a day's worth of long soaks can lead to twisting. Do that on a few trips no doubt there will be some twists in the line. But, it's pretty easy to simply run your fingers down the limp braid and knock out the twists. Hold your braid up with the end down by your toes but off the ground, maybe six feet, and run your fingers down the braid and watch the bottom of the braid lose the twists. Should be good to go after clearing a couple times.
