Chark-- On my recent Red Rooster 15 day, the boat and some fishermen were trolling with large, lipped diving plugs. They were very effective. I **think** these plugs were Nomad DTX lures, made in Australia. Do you carry them? Do you plan to? I need something to replace my lucky Orange Carp Marauder: a wahoo actually chewed through the wire on the belly hook.

I'll do some checking on the lure, not familiar to me. Strike Pro also used to have a great deep diver lure, when/if they ever make it back into the US market those are also a wonderful wahoo lure. I'll check...

Got 'em on order... Actually had contact with them five or more years ago, received a couple poppers from them, large GT sized. Similar to what we were having produced back then with Toro. The company advanced quite a bit upon checking their more recent product line. We'll bring in five models in several color patterns.

Bought a few. Looks like a well made product. What rod setup, line test and type do you think works best? Was thinking 80 braid with 25 ft. of 80 lb shock leader. Would straight 80 mono be better?

80 braid to 25 feet of 80 mono will work -- but you definitely need a few feet of wire in front of the plug. Chark has some harnesses that will work if you don't want to wire the plug yourself.

From boat feedback, don't go crazy with heavy line, leader and rigging hardware. Keep it simple. It's a deep diver and extra diameter of leader can negatively effect it's tracking. Also, be prepared for some serious resistance when trying to bring the lure back to the boat, especially if boat is moving. That bill digs in well, provides great depth but also major resistance on the retrieve. AK-Fish knows what he's talking about, the thinner the line the better the depth and tracking.
